Between 1979 and 1982, five people vanished from the Lewis-Clark Valley, a quiet region straddling the Idaho-Washington border. Their stories—seemingly unconnected at first—would form a haunting pattern that has baffled investigators for over four decades.

It began with 12-year-old Christina White, who disappeared after calling home from a friend’s house. Two years later, University of Idaho student Kristin David was found dismembered in the Snake River. Then, on a single September night in 1982, stepsisters Kristina Nelson and Brandy Miller, along with Civic Theatre janitor Steven Pearsall, all vanished without a trace.

As detectives followed the evidence, one name surfaced—a man with a disturbing past and a connection to each victim. Despite decades of suspicion, he was never charged, leaving these cases unsolved but never forgotten.

How could so many disappearances occur in a town where everyone knew everyone else? And is the truth still hiding in plain sight?
